The Milwaukee Marathon starts and finishes at the newly-constructed Bucks’ Live Block entertainment complex in the heart of Milwaukee on Saturday, April 6th! We’ll be updating this website regularly with new information, so be sure to stay up to date by joining our email list.

The Course

Marathon

The Marathon course starts and finishes at the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee and showcases some of the best sights Milwaukee has to offer, including the Lake Michigan Waterfront, Lake Park, Washington Park, Marquette University and Wisconsin Avenue.

*This will be a USATF-certified course and a Boston Marathon qualifier!

START TIME: 7:00 AM

Half Marathon

The Half Marathon course starts and finishes at the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee and takes runners across the Milwaukee River, through the heart of downtown Milwaukee and over to the Lake Michigan Waterfront before journeying through Marquette University campus.

START TIME: 7:00 AM

This course is subject to change per City of Milwaukee requirements and USATF certification.

5K

The 5K flows from the Fiserv Forum, through Downtown until reaching the the Lake Michigan Waterfront. From there, runners will turn around near the Art Museum before returning to Fiserv Forum and the festival.

START TIME: 6:30 AM

The After-Party

The Milwaukee Marathon doesn’t end at the finish line – the fun continues with an awesome after-party in the brand-new entertainment plaza outside the Fiserv Forum culminating with the Milwaukee Bucks game at 4:00 PM (tickets not included in registration).

There will be music, food, drinks, vendor booths and giveaways to enjoy, plus appearances by the Bucks Beat drum line, Milwaukee Bucks Dancers, Milwaukee Bucks Hoop Troop and Bango, the Bucks mascot.

In addition, the brand new Good City Brewing, Punch Bowl Social and Drink Wisconsinbly Pub will be open for business offering great food, drinks, and views of the after-party!

Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, April 5th at Live Block from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Want to pick up your packet the morning of the race? You’ll be able to upgrade to race-day packet pickup for $9.99 when you sign up for the event or by editing your registration.

Elite Runner Perks

If you’ve achieved an exceptionally low finish time at a marathon or half marathon in the past two years, we have a couple of perks for you! The first is a special Elite Runner Corral at the front of the pack to ensure you get a fast start right out of the gate. The second is a fully comped entry to this year’s race!

Both perks have limited availability and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

To apply for either (or both) of the perks, send an email to [email protected] with your name, qualifying time, and race distance, along with the official results from the qualifying race. We accept results only from USATF-certified races you completed within the last two years.

Pacers

Want to have fun with a group and maintain your desired pace in the Half Marathon or Marathon? Do you have a specific goal time? Want to run even splits? Run with the PRO Pace Team from Performance Running Outfitters, the Official Pace Team Partner of the Milwaukee Marathon.

BECOMING A PACER

Have what it takes to be a pacer for the Milwaukee Marathon and want to apply? Click here to submit your application. The submission deadline is November 20, 2018 and selections will be announced on December 1, 2018.

HOW TO FIND PACERS ON RACE DAY

Pace Team Leaders can be found wearing official Milwaukee Marathon “PACER” gear and holding signs indicating their pace. On race day, you can meet Pace Team Leaders in the starting corral prior to the start of the race.

FINDING YOUR PACER

There is no cost or need to pre-register for the pace team, nor is there any obligation to stay with the group you choose. You may surge ahead or drop back as you desire. Running together gives the group a collective energy and enthusiasm that supports and enhances everybody’s race experience.

All of the Pacers are experienced runners and are looking forward to helping pace you towards your race goal.

Awards

We award cash prizes to both the top male and female finishers in the marathon and the half:

First Place – $1,500
Second Place – $1,000
Third Place – $750
Master’s (40+) First Place – $500
Top Wisconsinite – $200

HALF
First Place – $750
Second Place – $500
Third Place – $375
Master’s (40+) First Place – $250
Top Wisconsinite – $100

We also award non-cash prizes to the top three men and women in each age group: < 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Runners who win a cash prize are not eligible to win an age group prize.

For the 5K, the top three male and female finishers will receive a special medal.

Both the start and finish lines are conveniently located in downtown Milwaukee at Live Block right in front of the Fiserv Forum, home of the Milwaukee Bucks!
